Hi there, y’all!
Been a bit since I posted last, but I’ve been crazy busy working on something quite exciting for homeschool students, colorists, etcetera etc etc…
A historical coloring book.
It’s coming along pretty well, despite the many unforeseen hurdles lurking along the way. I’ve been laboring long hours on approximately 45 illustrations to include in the coloring book. Each one has been challenging and fun, and I feel like I’ve been able to deeper connect with the era in which they are situated: the American Civil War.
The coloring book will highlight some important battles, people, and events which *colored* (pun not intended) that tumultuous time.
I’m thrilled to share this with you all — this book has been a work in progress for around a year, and was birthed (it had to be the Lord) out of the blue while I was in the thick of a college course exploring the Civil War & Reconstruction.
I’ve come to realize just how important knowing and gleaning from history is, and am saddened as I look around and see so much confusion and ignorance in regard to that — our own history. It might not be pretty, but it is nevertheless important to learn from lives already lived to avoid making similar mistakes in the future.
That being said, I hope you are inspired to go lug a history book out of the dusty, deep recesses of your attic library 😉
And I’ll be sharing more about this coloring book in the future! It is currently in the final stages of formatting before being “sent off” (electronically) to the printing press. Lord willing, within the next few months, it’ll be available for purchase through Amazon, as well as my website (WIP) and hopefully a few other online outlets.
This coloring book is for the parent trying to engage their child in U.S. history, the curious colorist, the Civil War history buff…and whoever else is out there who wants to try their hand at coloring more of American history! 🇺🇸
Stay tuned! (And keep your pencils sharpened 🎈)
