September Update

Hi there, y’all!

September has snuck upon us yet again. (Did I mention that there are three months until December?! Sheesh!) Time is flying . . . the world is spinning . . . and things are happening!

I am so close to having this historical coloring book finished. Like, VeRy close. ❤

This has been such a journey. I’d always dreamed of having something in print when I was a little girl, but actually being in the process of publishing is strange and thrilling. I had no idea how involved this is!

I’ve learned so much along the way, and I’m pre-tty sure the learning curve is only getting steeper. 😉 God has proved Himself, once again, so, Soo faithful in directing me every step of the way. All the nitty-gritty details I had no clue about have been hacked by prayer and His help. I’m indebted to Him for helping me hash this thing out.

The Big News for today: Yesterday I purchased the ISBN, EAN, and QR Code for Pivotal in the American Civil War: A Historical Coloring Book!

That was a huge, concrete step for me. I realized that I’d been ‘okay’ during this process up until making a non-refundable purchase— and then I hesitated 😅

But it’s a done deal, and we are on track to do a cover reveal sometime in either late September or early October 🍁 📚🍂🍄

So stay tuned until then 😉

Also . . . here’s a fun sort of challenge. (Don’t do it if you’re not inclined to ❤️)

I’m not sure how many of you who are followers of Jesus Christ are super into memorizing Scripture, but it’s personally been so refreshing to have His Words easily accessible in my mind. I also finds that it draws me closer to Him 💕

Whenever I’m worried, upset, off-focus, weary, or aggravated . . . you name it— His Word meets the need. Just playing certain verses over and over in my head gives me peace and comfort, even if the problem hasn’t been solved yet.

So, here’s the challenge (& I’m calling it ‘Scripture September,’ even though it’s technically mid-September; I’ll have to get a head start next year 😄😉):

1. Choose a Chapter somewhere in the Bible that you’d like to master. It can be anywhere from 2 verses in length to 150.
Then, for 1 month (around 4 weeks) get as much of it as you can in your heart ❤️
2. Each week, take a verse (starting with verse no. 1) and each day that week do something fun with that verse to really iron it into your brain. (E.g., make up a song, paint/do art with it, do hand motions to it, do jumping jacks to it for every syllable, etc) Get creative!
3. The following Sunday, see if you can say it by heart, and then beginning on Monday tag on the next verse and do the same with it!
4. In 4 weeks that’s 4 verses. You can double it up and try 2 or 3 verses per week if that’s your style, or stick to one per week. The point is, let it become part of who you are.
5. And the final part of the challenge is: Share It! If you’ve got siblings, family members, or friends, rattle off those Scriptures. If you’ve got social media, take a video or post a snapshot of what you did.
Make a 4-week goal. Challenge completed.

“But you are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are true….I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil….Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.”

~ Psalm 119:151, 162, & 165

The deadline for this #ScriptureSeptember is October 1st. You can share a link to posts related to this challenge in the comments section below if you’d like 🌻

I’m going to get started on Psalm 145 . . . . That’s been on my bucket list for a while!

See you soon!

  1. It is so cool that you are doing the coloring book! And congratulations on being almost done! ❤ I love the Scripture memory challenge. I may have to do that. I have been desiring to do it more ever since I participated in the National Bible Bee summer study for the first time this year. Hiding God's word in your heart is a great way to remind yourself of His truth!

    1. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, Heaven! ❤
Well, I just know that I need the challenge 😀 That's wonderful that you participated in the National Bible Bee summer study! I haven't been involved in that personally, but I have several friends who have been and really enjoy it. Amen! His truth is worth the effort. ❤
