My NEW Civil War Coloring Book ~ COVER REVEAL!

Hi there, y’all!

Long time no talk. 😉

Has December finally hit us . . . ? Sheesh, I guess it has! I confess that it caught me unprepared. 😛

BUT . . . what it hasn’t done is left me without something super-DUPER exciting that I get to share with you all! (I’ve been waiting for this moment since day #1 ❤ )

Ladies and Gents, I am thrilled to get to release to you the front cover of my historical coloring book, Pivotal Points in the American Civil War.

(Here’s a quick peak into what’s inside!)

Get ready to color your way through some of the most pivotal points in the American Civil War!

This historical coloring book features 41 beautifully rendered depictions of various battles, people, and events in a crucial era in America’s history. Each coloring page includes an adjacent, brief paragraph offering an insightful glimpse into the scene at hand, surrounded by a colorable border. Ideal as an educational resource or a means for relaxation, students, colorists, and history buffs will find this an informative and enjoyable coloring journey.

And after doing a good bit of research (and some classic, lovely, messy trial-&-error ❤ ), I finally decided upon the following:

Special Features Include:

  • Coloring pages printed on high-quality 100# uncoated paper
  • Perfect-Bound for durability
  • 27 Battles, 8 Historical Figures, & 4 Historical Events connected to the American Civil War

Suggested Uses:

  • Perfect for educational use. Making copies for single-household use is permitted and useful for both lengthening the life of the coloring book and getting multiple colorists involved at the same time. Excellent as a supplement for a unit study.
  • Insightful for those interested in both enhancing their coloring skills and learning more about the critical War Between the States.

And now for the Why behind my coloring book . . . 🙂 ❤

I became a believer in Jesus Christ when I was six, was homeschooled from kindergarten through 12th grade, and am the eldest of five kids. When I was little I loved to draw, and I continued doing it all while I was growing up. I never attended any art classes per se, but I did receive many, many pointers and words of encouragement from my family and friends. I always knew I wanted to do something special with my art, but wasn’t sure as to what.

I also loved to read and write. While we were being homeschooled, my Mom and Dad provided us with tons of good literature to read! We were never at a loss for books. I devoured old books, new books, autobiographies, historical fiction, poetry, classics, and more. I relished it, and learned to love history at a young age. It was fascinating. These events really happened, and these people really lived! I was so inspired by what I read that I tried to write my own fictional stories. Maybe one day they’ll make it into a book, but for now let’s just say that they fueled my interest in history.

Then I grew up some more and started college.  I began taking all kinds of classes, and I soon learned that my favorite ones revolved around either writing or history. I took a course called “The Civil War and Reconstruction,” and was intrigued by all of the things that transpired. I saw God’s hand working through various, difficult circumstances to restore righteousness and reveal Himself. And then God dumped on me this wonderful idea: “Why not make a coloring book?!”

I commenced researching and sketching. I watched videos, read books, and asked for advice. Weeks morphed into months. 2020 came, COVID-19 threw us all a curveball, and social turmoil began wrecking our nation. I began to witness what happens when a country chooses to reject God and erase history.

And then the Lord reminded me of something: Kids are the next generation! There’s a Scripture verse, Judges 2:10, which states that after Joshua’s generation had all passed away, a new generation rose up. They didn’t know the Lord or the works He had done for their nation, Israel, and it led to their downfall. That’s in only one generation!

My hope and prayer is that you would learn to love history, and that you would learn to love the God of history. We have all sinned against Him, and we deserve eternal death. But He is so loving and merciful that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take our punishment for us so that if we believe in Him, we can have everlasting life and live to know our Creator!

Knowing and trusting in Jesus is the first step toward getting America (or any nation) back on track, and knowing our history — the good, the bad, and the ugly — helps us see how we’ve gotten to where we are now. I hope that this coloring book about the Civil War helps you to do that.

And Now . . .

Pivotal Points is very VERY close to its first publication! I have just a few details left to tweak, and then I will be ordering the first shipment. Turnaround time is crazy right now due to both Covid-19 & the general madness of the holidays, so it will be a few more weeks at least before it’s available for purchase ❤

Thanks to all of you who have expressed interest in this coloring book and have been following along on this little journey of mine! You are a true source of inspiration and encouragement, and you are the reason I do what I do. Thank you!

And . . . again: please, if you feel lead to help me out, the best thing you could do is to share this with friends, family, homeschooling families or colorists who would benefit and enjoy Pivotal Points ❤ If you do, thank you in advance! ❤

So. This was rather a looong post, and I apologize.

BUT . . . my hope is that you are just as excited as I am, because this was crafted with the intentions of being a blessing to families and individuals who care about our country, care about our history, and care about the things that truly matter. Who care about the things that God thinks are important.

So stay tuned! I’ll be updating y’all very soon on some more progress ❤

❤ , Callie M.
